At High Desert Raven Writing, we believe in the power of kindness and connection, much like the ravens we draw inspiration from. However, much like the “unkindness of ravens”—a term referring to a group of these striking birds—we will not tolerate the unkindness of individuals who bring negativity or harmful behavior into our community. Just as ravens flock together in solidarity, we too strive for a space that embraces diversity, empathy, and respect.

Our mission is to amplify the voices of marginalized groups, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and others who have historically been silenced. We believe that writing and sharing stories can transform lives, fostering compassion and understanding. In our workshops and courses, we provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Anyone who uses writing to perpetuate harmful stereotypes, spread hate, or create division will be swiftly removed from the nest. So, while we celebrate the gathering of minds and stories, remember: if your actions go against the spirit of kindness and respect, we harbor and guard, you’ll find yourself flying solo.
